Are you a jack of all trades type of person who likes to work with a small team? If so, come work in our truck bay! The Golden View Express Maintenance person supports maintaining equipment for the fleet to support Helluva Container. Helluva Container is one of the largest providers of new and used Gaylord Boxes and Bulk Bags throughout the US. The Truck & Trailer mechanic plays a critical role in managing the readiness of our fleet.
Job
- Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm (occasional nights & weekends)
- Pay: $20-25/hr. negotiable based on experience
Key Responsibilities
Truck Maintenance & Trailer Mechanic
- Semi-truck & 53’ dry van trailer maintenance
- Change oil
- Repair trailers (holes, leaks, doors, roof, axles, floors, airbags, etc.)
- Set brakes and bearings; brake cans
- Repair/replace lights
- Troubleshoot air valves
- Remove & apply decals
- Change tires
- Order and manage parts
- Schedule maintenance & DOT inspections (with Fleet Manager)
- Troubleshoot driver issues (with Fleet Manager)
- Ensure paperwork meets company and DOT regulations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, & local rules and regulations
Warehouse Maintenance
- Maintain boiler and oil reserves
- Back trailers into docs or shop when needed
- Assist with baler repairs in warehouse
- Fix tin damage
- Clean dock drains
- Maintenance on dock locks
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Experience working on diesel trucks and heavy-duty trailers.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems a plus.
- Knowledge of air brakes, axles and suspension a plus.
- DOT Certification a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge & experience welding steel and aluminum a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred but not required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others
- Outstanding organizational skills & planning to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations & unexpected events in a professional manner.
