Job Summary
Heritage Preschool is looking for part-time afternoon daycare teachers.
This job is Monday-Friday. Split shifts are available, as well as additional opportunities to receive extra hours (substituting), if desired.
Duties
- Supervise children during afternoon hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and daily experiences
- Support children with diapering, pottying, snack time, and other daily routines as needed
- Enforce classroom rules and behavior management strategies to foster positive interactions among children
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures and mandated reporting laws
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings is highly preferred.
- MUST OVER THE AGE OF 21
- Must be reliable, energetic, and passionate about supporting young children's growth and learning
- A team player, and can work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt to their surroundings/environment due to the nature of the position
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training encouraged
- Ability to effectively supervise multiple children while maintaining a calm, attentive demeanor
- Strong communication skills for engaging with parents, colleagues, and children
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
