SCO Family of Services is seeking an experienced supervisor with a background in foster care or related services to lead a case planning team of case planners, parent advocates, and case aides supporting children and families in the foster care system.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, supervision and support to Case planners, Parent advocates, and Case aides.
- Monitor casework to ensure compliance with ACS/OCFS and agency policies
- Review and approve documentation (FASPs, court reports, progress notes) for accuracy and timeliness.
- Facilitate case planning and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Support staff in assessing safety, managing risk, and achieving permanency goals.
- Ensure families are actively engaged in service planning and reunification efforts.
- Oversee service referrals, treatment planning, and crisis interventions.
- Attend and testify in court hearings and collaborate with legal and community partners.
- Supervise and support family visitation when needed.
- Provide on-call support for emergencies (including evenings/weekends).
- Respond to hotline and emergency situations, including evenings and weekends.
- Fulfills duty of Mandated Reporter, which entails reporting any suspected instances of child abuse or maltreatment.
- Lead staff development, evaluations, and hiring processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree required, MSW degree preferred and a minimum of two (2) years in child welfare.
- Approved background clearances and fingerprinting are required.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Strong knowledge of ACS, OCFS and Foster Care regulations.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel and Connections.
- Bilingual skills strongly preferred.
- Valid NYS Driver License is required
