Dunwoody College of Technology is seeking a highly motivated technician that wants to use their expertise to train future technicians entering the automotive industry to serve as an Instructor for its Automotive Service Technology Program. This position involves delivering both classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory training within our two-year program accredited by the Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation (ASEEF).
The Instructor will lead the teaching and learning process with an emphasis on continuous improvement, fostering an engaging, supportive and challenging environment where students can achieve course objectives. The goal is to equip students with the knowledge, technical skills, professional ethics, and proper use of tools necessary to meet industry standards and succeed in the automotive field.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Facilitates learning activities so that students learn the principles, theory, skills, and work ethic necessary to become proficient for entry level positions
- Creates a positive learning environment
- Monitors, assesses and advises learners on technical and academic progress and performance
- Uses current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction
- Develops and upgrades lesson material, training aids and maintains equipment within assigned course of instruction
- Assists in the recruitment and placement of learners
- Designs and develops new curriculum within the Automotive Service program
- Participates in industry and/or professional organizations in order to maintain and enhance program health and academic integrity.
- Assists in curriculum health improvements in the assigned program.
· Attend technical update classes annually to maintain certifications.
· Participate in recruiting events.

QUALIFICATIONS
· AAS Degree from a 2-year accredited Automotive Service Program
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- 5 years of professional industry experience
- 1-3 years teaching experience preferred
- Minimum of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification for subject taught
- Master ASE Certification preferred
- ASE L-1 & L-3 preferred
- Experience using Microsoft office products
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well with others in an academic environment
Pay: $72,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
