Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator specializing in Flooring to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating closely with clients, suppliers, and project managers to ensure successful project execution. Your expertise will help drive efficient budgeting, pricing strategies, and project planning for flooring installations across diverse construction projects. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive and precise cost estimates for flooring projects by reviewing blueprints, specifications, and site conditions.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bids and proposals.
- Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts that align with project budgets and timelines.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, gather measurements, and verify scope of work for accurate estimation.
- Manage cost control throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring expenses, tracking changes, and adjusting estimates as needed.
- Assist in contract negotiations and review contractual documents to ensure clarity of scope, pricing, and responsibilities.
- Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that facilitate scheduling, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on flooring or interior finishes.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management, and flooring installation techniques.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for document markup and collaboration; HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly preferred.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, cost control practices, and project management principles.
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites or managing flooring installation projects is a plus.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across various phases of the project. Pay: $18.55 - $22.00 per hour
