Co-Teacher Position Overview
The United School is seeking compassionate, energetic, and collaborative Co-Teachers to join our Middle and High School teams for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with autism and other developmental disabilities in a structured, positive, and evidence-based learning environment.
Working alongside a Lead Teacher and multidisciplinary team, the Co-Teacher helps implement academic instruction, behavior support strategies, and individualized programming that promotes student growth, independence, and success.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Direct Instruction (DI) curriculum and instructional strategies to maximize student learning.
- Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and individualized behavior support plans to encourage positive student outcomes.
- Assist with classroom instruction, small-group learning, and individualized academic support under the direction of the Lead Teacher.
- Collaborate with Lead Teachers, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and the Director of Education to meet each student's academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Reinforce classroom routines, expectations, and positive behavior support systems.
- Help prepare instructional materials and support differentiated learning activities based on student ability levels.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Collect data and document student progress as directed.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and fellow team members while contributing to a collaborative school culture.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in education, psychology, special education, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and behavior management strategies.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Pay: $41,000.00 - $45,600.00 per year
