Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) / Associate Certified Medical Assistant (ACMA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and documentation of medical histories using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications, including tube feeding and other prescribed treatments, following strict protocols and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Support residents with personal care assistance, including hygiene, mobility, and daily activities in senior living or care facility settings.
- Perform basic clinical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, and monitoring of vital signs to ensure optimal health status.
- Help manage patient safety by adhering to HIPAA regulations, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring compliance with state healthcare regulations.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures in acute or long-term care environments.
- Support emergency response efforts by performing CPR and first aid when necessary; handle heavy lifting safely during patient transfers or equipment setup.
- Document medical information accurately in EMR/EHR systems while ensuring compliance with privacy standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to promote understanding of care plans and treatment procedures.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Associate Certified Medical Assistant (ACMA) credential from an accredited program.
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care settings.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care practices.
- Hands-on experience with medical documentation systems such as Epic or Cerner; proficiency in EHR systems is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while supporting residents or patients during transfers or heavy lifting activities.
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on senior care, memory care, hospice support, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Current certifications in CPR and First Aid; additional training in hospice or palliative care is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and with patients’ families.
