American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric and neonatal experience for a night shift travel assignment in a hospital pediatric respiratory therapy unit in Springfield, MO.

Pediatric Respiratory Therapy unit at a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center hospital in Springfield, MO
-
Serves pediatric and neonatal patients across Peds, PICU, and NICU settings (approx. 62 beds combined)

Equipment includes Draeger VN500, Hamilton G-5, Oscillator, and Jet Ventilator
-
EMR: Epic
-
Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12 schedule
-
No weekend or on-call requirements
-
Float requirement: as needed between peds and neonatal areas
-
13-week assignment
-
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program
-
RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
-
Current state license required (license required if applicable)
-
Active BLS from AHA, NRP, and PALS required — no certifications expiring within 30 days of assignment start unless renewal is documented

Minimum 2 years of pediatric and/or neonatal experience required

Prior NICU and PICU experience required

Valid U.S. Social Security Number required — Canadian SINs not accepted
-
No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
-
Responsibilities include initiating and managing mechanical ventilation, performing respiratory care procedures, assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and participating in physician rounds

Communicates patient status, goals, and care plan updates to interdisciplinary team members
-
Functions as a resource or preceptor and participates in departmental committees and huddles

Maintains and processes respiratory equipment, including stocking supplies and O2 tank replacement
-
Stays current with neonatal and pediatric respiratory care literature and best practices
-
Black scrubs required; no other colors accepted
-
Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1 through April 1 — declinations are not accepted

Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed but must be made up during the assignment
-
Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
-
Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or relocation outside the 50-mile radius is required
