About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) WITH PRIOR RHEUMATOLOGY EXPERIENCE to join and help grow an established rheumatology practice in St. Lucie West.
Our practice has served the community for more than 15 years and is led by a board-certified rheumatologist with extensive clinical experience. This is an opportunity to step into an existing practice with an established patient base while playing an important role in its continued growth.
The ideal candidate has prior rheumatology experience, enjoys developing long-term relationships with patients, and is comfortable managing both routine and complex rheumatologic conditions.
The position will see approximately 15-20 patients per day and will work closely with our rheumatologist, clinical staff, and infusion team.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage approximately 20 rheumatology patients per day
- See both new and established patients
- Develop and manage treatment plans in collaboration with our board-certified rheumatologist
- Manage rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus, gout, osteoporosis, and other rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory testing and imaging
- Prescribe and manage DMARDs, biologics, and other rheumatology medications within scope of practice
- Evaluate and follow patients receiving infusion and injectable biologic therapies
- Monitor treatment response, medication safety, and laboratory results
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate closely with our physician, nursing, infusion, and administrative teams
- Help strengthen and grow the practice through excellent patient care, follow-up, and relationships with the local medical community

- Active or eligible Florida Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
- PRIOR RHEUMATOLOGY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Experience evaluating and managing rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions
- Familiarity with biologics, DMARDs, and other rheumatology therapies
- Strong clinical judgment and patient communication skills
- Ability to comfortably manage a busy outpatient patient schedule
Preferred
- Experience managing infusion and biologic patients
- Experience in an established outpatient rheumatology practice
- Familiarity with medication monitoring, prior authorizations, and specialty medication workflows
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to join an established practice with an existing patient base and an experienced board-certified rheumatologist, rather than build from scratch. We're looking for an NP or PA who wants to become a long-term part of the practice and help us continue building a high-quality rheumatology program in the St. Lucie community.
