Lead Instructor – KP Tutor (1099)

Job Description
Kinetic Potential (KP) is seeking passionate and dedicated Lead Instructors – KP Tutors to support students through academic, social, and professional development programming.
KP Tutors support a variety of instructional delivery models, including distance learning, on-site, and hybrid courses. Our educational and career services span academic enrichment, remediation, social development, career readiness, and professional development.
A typical course is approximately 1–2 hours in duration, delivered 2–3 times per week, and may take place during regular school hours or outside of school hours. Lead Instructors are also expected to contribute to the continued development of the Kinetic Potential Learning Curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Deliver academic, social, and/or professional development content across a variety of subject areas.
- Provide online and/or in-person academic remediation to groups of K–12 students, typically 3–8 students per group, in areas such as Math, English Language Arts (ELA)/Reading, and Science.
- Deliver instruction that is aligned with each student's individual learning plan and educational needs.
- Develop engaging lesson plans and instructional activities aligned with established academic standards, including Common Core State Standards (CCSS), when applicable.
- Adapt instructional strategies and materials to accommodate different learning styles, abilities, and student needs.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
- Maintain accurate student attendance, progress, and performance records within KP's proprietary ATMS platform.
- Communicate professionally with students, families, school partners, and KP staff as needed.
- Collaborate with KP instructors, mentors, and program staff to support student success.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Kinetic Potential Learning Curriculum.
- Participate in required training, meetings, and professional development activities.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of teaching, tutoring, or instructional experience, preferably within K–12 education.
- Experience working in Title I schools or with underserved student populations is strongly preferred.
- Experience delivering online or hybrid instruction is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required; Master's or doctoral degree is a plus.
- Current and active state teaching license appropriate to the candidate's area of instruction; proof of licensure may be required.
- Strong communication, classroom management, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively use online learning platforms and educational technology.
- Passion for student success and a strong commitment to improving student academic performance.
- Ability to adapt instruction to different student needs and learning environments.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with KP staff and school/community partners.
- Ability to inspire youth to Want More. Do More. Be More.

Depending on program and partner needs, Lead Instructors may provide instruction remotely, on-site, or through a hybrid model.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
