The Kennel Attendant is responsible for assisting in the cost-effective, sanitary and humane operation of the Naperville Area Humane Society; working with Animal Care staff and volunteers to ensure the health and welfare of all animals in the care of Naperville Area Humane Society by following the Guidelines for Standards of Care established by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. The Kennel Attendant is a representative of Naperville Area Humane Society, and as such, must enthusiastically support the mission, goals, objectives and strategies of the organization.
Kennel Attendant will be responsible for:
*Day-to-day care of both dogs and cats at the Naperville Area Humane Society in addition to the daily cleaning of the facility; day-to-day care includes but might not be limited to dog walking, dog kennel and cat condo cleaning/sanitizing/disinfecting, feeding and occasionally dog bathing
*Working knowledge of dog and cat body language and behavior with a willingness to learn more
*Monitor animals for signs of physical health and report concerns to the animal care staff
*Stocks needed supplies in respective area, food, cleaning supplies and medical items
*Maintaining a high level of communication with all NAHS staff
*Customer service skills needed at you are also responsible for greeting all visitors with a positive attitude
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
