Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Arizona-licensed attorney to join our growing first-party property insurance practice representing homeowners and commercial property owners in insurance coverage, underpayment, and bad faith disputes. The Senior Managing Attorney will be responsible for handling a substantial caseload from inception through resolution, including claim analysis, legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting depositions, attending hearings, negotiating settlements, and managing litigation strategy. The attorney will work closely with clients, experts, adjusters, and opposing counsel to maximize recoveries and achieve favorable outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong litigation skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of insurance law and civil procedure. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team of attorneys, paralegals, and claims professionals while playing a hands-on role in advocating for policyholders throughout the claims and litigation process.
Duties
- Provide legal advice and counsel on first-party insurance claims, including property damage, personal injury, and coverage disputes.
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and correspondence with clients and insurance companies.
- Manage all aspects of litigation proceedings, including filing lawsuits, discovery processes, depositions, negotiations, and trial preparation.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers, policyholders, and other parties to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting first-party insurance claims and litigation.
- Collaborate with the law office team to ensure efficient case management and adherence to deadlines.
- Maintain meticulous records of case files, correspondence, and legal research for audit purposes.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Arizona (other states a plus) state bar with active license to practice law.
- Law review or journal experience a plus.
- Proven experience in first-party insurance law or related fields such as personal injury law, property law, or litigation.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and immigration law is a plus.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills for settlement discussions and dispute resolution.
- Legal administrative experience preferred for efficient case management.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $180,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
