Job Overview
The Compressed Air Systems Service Technician serves as an ambassador for the Company and is responsible of servicing, commissioning, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial compressed air systems throughout Puerto Rico. Services are performed on-site and on demand to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of rotary screw industrial air compressors, air dryers, and ancillary compressed air system equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, refrigeration, and control system failures.
- Perform start-ups, commissioning, operational testing, and verification of proper operating parameters such as pressure, temperature, dew point, amperage, vibration, and control settings.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pneumatic diagrams, hydraulic diagrams, and OEM service documentation.
- Troubleshoot 3-phase electrical systems, drive motors, circuit protection, control boards, sensors, pressure switches, transducers, temperature probes, phase monitors, and other feedback devices.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and support variable speed drives / VFDs and electronic controllers.
- Perform general preventive maintenance tasks including filter replacement, oil changes, lubrication, belts, hoses, drains, and inspection of wear components.
- Prepare accurate technical service reports, written evaluations, recommendations, parts usage documentation, and customer service records.
- Communicate professionally with customers, service coordination, technical support, sales, management, and factory resources.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, parts inventory, and assigned equipment in safe and professional condition.
- Comply with OSHA, customer safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout, PPE requirements, and company safety expectations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical/electrical experience; experience with rotary screw air compressors is highly preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic controls, refrigeration equipment, and related industrial systems.
- Experience with 3-phase power, drive motors, conductors, circuit protection, AC motor theory, wiring, and fault diagnosis.
- Ability to navigate and troubleshoot control boards, VFDs, sensors, and equipment controllers.
- Understanding of ladder logic, PLC/relay controls, AC/DC drives, or industrial controls is a plus.
- Computer skills required; ability to work with service software, email, reports, and scheduling tools.
- Ability to write clear technical service reports.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred/required for effective customer communication in Puerto Rico.
- Valid, unexpired Puerto Rico Driver's License.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
