Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marine Travelift Operator / Yard Man to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy-duty lifting equipment, including a 75MT Marine Travelift, a Skid Steer, and a pallet forklift to safely load, unload vessels, and transport materials within our yard. Your expertise in materials handling, rigging, and crane operation will ensure efficient workflow and uphold the highest safety standards across our boatyard environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment in a fast-paced setting while contributing to the safe and smooth operation of our yard facilities.
Responsibilities
- Operate 75 MT Marine Travelift, Skid Steer, and Forklift with precision to handle heavy loads safely.
- Follow load handling procedures in crane operations, ensuring proper load securing rigging methods are used at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections of lifting equipment, hydraulics, safety devices, and safety equipment to maintain optimal operational readiness.
- Adhere strictly to boatyard workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards during all operations.
- Manage materials handling tasks including loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving of goods within the yard environment.
- Implement proper load securing techniques using rigging and other load handling procedures to prevent accidents or damage.
- Assist with general yard duties such as hauling yachts, placing blocks & stands, keeping facility neat, clean, organized.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of cranes, hydraulics, lifting equipment, and material handling systems.
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as Marine Travelifts, boom trucks, backhoes, forklifts, and warehouse machinery.
- Knowledge of Boatyard workplace safety regulations and the implementation of OSHA safety standards.
- Skilled in crane operation including overhead cranes and load handling procedures in crane operations.
- Ability to perform rigging tasks accurately using various rigging methods for load security.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial driving preferred.
- Familiarity with boatyard site safety protocols, materials handling best practices, and shipping & receiving processes.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
