Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Hanger and Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing drywall surfaces to ensure high-quality interior finishes on various construction projects. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, hang, and secure drywall panels on walls and ceilings according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Finish drywall joints by applying tape, compound, sanding, and smoothing to achieve seamless surfaces.
- Install additional components such as corner beads, trims, moldings, and fixtures to enhance the finished look.
- Repair damaged drywall or surfaces affected by water damage or other issues using plastering and restoration techniques.
- Collaborate with carpenters, plumbers, masons, and other trades to coordinate installation processes and ensure project timelines are met.
- Read schematics and blueprints accurately to determine material requirements and installation procedures.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in drywall hanging and finishing within the construction or restoration industry.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings relevant to drywall installation.
- Familiarity with related trades such as carpentry, plastering, tile laying, framing, metal stud framing, trim carpentry, and caulking.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, lifts, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices for working on construction sites.
- Experience with water damage restoration, mold remediation, or remodeling projects is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship in finishing touches like painting or fixture installation.
