Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Poultry Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving poultry processing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, and a commitment to food safety and workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on processing equipment.
- Diagnose equipment failures and minimize production downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Repair conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, and processing equipment.
- Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, and company safety standards.
- Work with production personnel to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Participate in emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance during weekends or off shifts as required.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in poultry or food processing.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (120V–480V), motors, controls, PLC troubleshooting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds and work in hot, cold, wet, and noisy environments.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification is a plus.
