American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with surgical scrubbing experience for a 13-week hospital OR position in Carmel, IN.
-
Hospital surgical unit with 10 ORs covering a wide variety of specialties including bariatrics, plastics, robotics, orthopedics, and spine
-
Experience scrubbing robotics, spine, and/or ortho cases is highly preferred
-
Evening shift: 10:30–19:00
-
Call participation is required, with approximately 2–4 call shifts per 6-week schedule period

13-week contract
-
Minimum of 2 years of cumulative surgical technologist experience
-
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of experience, an Associate's or Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job-specific experience required

BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required
-
Active CST credential from either the NBSTSA or NCCT required
-
License required if applicable

Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a valid US home address

Two professional references required

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
-
Prepare the OR suite with sterile drapes, solutions, and appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies

Pass required instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures
-
Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients
-
Maintain organized instrument sets and monitor instrument and sponge counts throughout all procedures

Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required

Must be able to exercise critical thinking and decisive judgment while working with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
