RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaboration and communication with administration and staff on behalf of students success
- Support students academic, emotional and behavioral needs as indicated by their IEPs
- Provide the teacher with information about students that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning and behavioral experiences
- Knowledge of de-escalation and self-management strategies and implementation and the willingness to obtain and employ Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training.
- Data collection and implementation of behavior plans.
- Assist with related instructional work as required
- Maintain instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records (e.g. lessons, attendance, pencils, paper, teaching supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of items, providing written reports, or meeting mandated requirements
- Performs general tasks for the purpose of helping the teacher get instructional materials ready
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS: Must hold a valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certification
