Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and confirm upcoming visits using dental practice management software.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including verifying insurance details and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Handle phone communications with professionalism, providing information, scheduling, and addressing patient inquiries with clarity.
- Collect payments, process medical billing, and perform medical collections in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation review of patient records, treatment plans, and clinical notes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality policies.
- Support clinical staff by preparing treatment rooms, managing supplies, and assisting with administrative tasks related to care plans and medical coding (CPT codes, ICD-9/10).
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental clinic or medical office environment with strong front desk skills.
- Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare and Medicaid billing procedures.
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT) and medical billing practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with bilingual abilities preferred to serve diverse patient populations.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and 10-key typing for efficient data entry.
- Ability to handle phone etiquette professionally while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Understanding of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare documentation standards.
- Previous clinic experience with medical administrative support is highly desirable.
