Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and other modalities tailored to client needs.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand individual health concerns, preferences, and treatment goals.
- Educate clients on the benefits of different massage therapies and recommend appropriate sessions for pain management or relaxation.
- Maintain detailed records of client treatments, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with privacy standards.
- Ensure a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to sanitation protocols and maintaining equipment.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their concerns, explain procedures clearly, and provide post-treatment advice.
- Stay updated on the latest massage techniques, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and occupational health practices to enhance service quality.
Skills
- Proven experience in massage therapy with specialization in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and medical spa treatments.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to connect empathetically with diverse clients.
- Excellent client communication skills to explain treatment options and gather relevant health information.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pain management strategies, and medical terminology relevant to massage therapy.
- Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and develop customized treatment plans.
- CPR certification and familiarity with occupational health standards are required for safety compliance.
- Experience working in a med spa or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
