American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with Epic charting and IMPELLA/CRRT skills for a fast-paced hospital ICU with weekend and float requirements.

Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
-
Patient ratio of 1:2, occasionally flexing to 1:3
-
Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
Weekend coverage required, 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
-
No on-call requirements
-
Floating required to all ICUs and may include ED or PACU to care for ICU patients
-
May occasionally float to MS/PCU units with 1:4 patient ratios
-
Nurses perform all lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
-
Uses equipment including Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA pumps, Servo I ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis machines, Edwards Lifesciences cardiac monitors, Medtronic EVD Management Systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill Rom Beds, Pyxis Medication Station, and Veratron Bladder Scanner

Epic charting system used

Active LA RN license or Compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIHSS

Epic charting experience required
-
IMPELLA and CRRT/NXStage experience required
-
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
-
Skills required include IV therapy, central line care/management, PICC line management, arterial line management, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
-
Respiratory skills required including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
-
Cardiovascular skills required including IABP, sheath removal, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management

Renal skills required including chronic/acute renal failure management and CVVHD/CRRT
-
Neurological skills required including CVA/acute stroke management and ICP monitoring
-
Medication administration skills required including continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
-
Infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required
-
Phlebotomy and 12-lead EKG/ECG skills required
-
Must know N95 mask size for isolation patient care
-
Provide comprehensive ICU-level nursing care across multiple critical care specialties
-
May care for isolation patients, including potential COVID-19 cases
-
First-time travelers are not considered for this position
-
Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate
-
Radius rule of 75 miles applies for travel rate eligibility
-
Former permanent employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel

RTO limited to 5 days total for the assignment

At least two recent manager references required for consideration
