At FSR Trucking, we partner closely with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to keep essential mail moving. We are looking for professional, dependable class A CDL drivers who value a strong safety culture, top-tier equipment, and being home daily.
You will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a 53-foot commercial tractor-trailer to transport goods and freight across assigned local or regional routes. This role serves as a key driver of company operations by ensuring strict adherence to DOT and federal safety regulations, maintaining accurate log records with an easy-to-use modern electronic logging device, performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, operating automatic transmission day cabs with modern safety technology, and delivering dependable service while upholding company safety standards.
Compensation
- Base Pay: $27.89 per trip hour
- Fringe Benefits Pay: An additional $5.55 per trip hour (Structured to maximize your earnings up to a maximum of 86.67 hours per semi-monthly pay cycle)
- Total Hourly Potential: Up to $33.44 per trip hour
- Pay Schedule: Semi-monthly (on the 10th and 25th)
Schedule
- Home Daily: Local routes ensure you are home at the end of every shift
- Consistency: 0 to 40-hour work week
- Schedule Type: Relief / Extra board driver
License & Experience
- License Type: Class A Commercial Driver’s License (Required for minimum of 2 consecutive years)
- Clean Driving Record: No more than 2 combined tickets or accidents within the last 2 years
- Tractor-Trailer Experience: Matching one of these timelines:
- 12 months of tractor-trailer experience within the last 3 years
- 2 years of tractor-trailer experience within the last 5 years
General Requirements
- Full-time, in-person
- Minimum 21 years of age with a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- Pass a company road test
- Pass a drug screening and background check
- Strong ability to follow written/oral instructions and strictly follow DOT laws, safety rules, and procedures
Physical Requirements
- Bend at the waist, kneel, crouch, and use steps to enter and exit buildings and commercial motor vehicles
- Push mail equipment weighing up to 800 pounds (on wheels)
- Load and unload up to 22 double-stacked pallet positions, for a total of up to 44 pallets. Double-stacked pallet (Mobile, AL only)
- Open and close trailer doors weighing approximately 50 to 100 pounds
- Work in high-temperature conditions, including temperatures inside trailers that may reach approximately 110 °F
- Walk up to approximately 1 to 2 miles per day while traveling throughout a postal facility
- Handle up to 20 large rolling carts or two 42-letter carts
- Operate manual dock plates using a pole weighing approximately 15 to 20 pounds
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 53-foot commercial tractor-trailer in strict compliance with federal, state, and DOT regulations
- Proactively detect, report, and minimize potential safety hazards
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and records using Samsara electronic logging device
- Deliver excellent, professional customer service at all stops
