Kids Smiles is a community-based, non-profit pediatric dental practice dedicated to raising and expanding the standard of oral health care in under-served communities. We are currently seeking full- or part-time General Dentists to work in a hygiene-only role providing compassionate care to children and teens. Our office is a bustling blend of hygiene-driven and general dentistry. We have experience with this approach, and it benefits both you and the clinic.
Schedule:
- Full-time: Monday–Thursday, 8:45 AM–5:00/5:15 PM
- Part-time: Flexible within these days/hours
What You’ll Do (Hygiene-Focused Dentist)
In this role you will focus on preventive and hygiene procedures only – no restorative work.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans with a public-health emphasis and attention to overall health status
- Perform prophylaxis and scaling, with attention to periodontal health
- Administer fluoride treatments, place sealants, and provide adjunctive therapies ( curodont, SDF) as needed.
- Review and interpret radiographs; oversee diagnostic tests as needed
- Develops a comprehensive treatment plan with public health emphasis and attention to overall health status;
- Educate patients and parents/caregivers on prevention, home care, and long-term oral health
- Prescribe medications within scope of practice when appropriate
- Maintain accurate, organized, and legible clinical documentation and referrals
- Participate in quality assurance activities and follow established clinical protocols
- Protect patient privacy and maintain strict confidentiality
- Attend meetings, in-services, and trainings as assigned by the Clinical Director
- Stay current with continuing education to maintain licensure and certifications
- Support and model Kids Smiles policies, culture, and mission
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight of day-to-day office operations related to hygiene care, working closely with the office manager and clinical team
You will work with a dedicated team of dental assistants who will support you with radiographs, room turnover, patient seating, and patient flow.
What You’ll Bring
- DDS/DMD from an accredited School of Dental Medicine
- Current Pennsylvania dental license (or in process)
- Experience with pediatrics, public health, or Medicaid-based populations strongly preferred
- Commitment to serving under-resourced communities and working with children and families
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and assume a leadership role when needed
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent clinical judgment, interpersonal, and teaching skills
- Willingness and ability to occasionally travel to other Kids Smiles Philadelphia locations as needed

Pay: $90.00 - $100.00 per hour
