American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Surgical unit position requiring at least one year of relevant nursing experience and an active IL RN license.

Work in the surgical unit of a hospital setting
-
Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients
-
Cares for patients with new tracheostomies
-
Manages complex wounds including wound vac care
-
Assesses, manages, and educates patients and families on new ostomies
-
Collaborates with general surgical and OMFS residency services
-
Day shift schedule: 7:00a-7:30p (3x 12-hour shifts)
-
36 hours per week over 3 days
-
Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
-
Holiday coverage on a rotating basis

Uses Epic for charting
-
Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)

Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience

ASN required, BSN preferred
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Level 1 Trauma center experience required

Serves as the primary caregiver responsible for a designated group of patients, utilizing the nursing process to guide care

Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
-
Implements and modifies nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation of patient outcomes
-
Maintains accurate documentation to support care coordination across the healthcare team
-
Reports and corrects safety hazards to ensure patient and staff safety
-
Collaborates with peers and provides constructive feedback to support professional development
-
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
-
RTO may not exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
