American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, with telemetry experience preferred and a requirement to pass a Relias EKG exam.

Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (4x12-hour shifts)

Choice of 36 or 48 hours per week available

12-week contract

Short-term acute care hospital — Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center, and teaching hospital with 1,266 staffed beds
-
Medical/Surgical unit — this unit does not care for post-surgical patients

Patient population includes diabetes, renal disease, COPD, abdominal rule-outs, and oncology patients not currently receiving chemotherapy

Patient ratio of 1:6
-
Med/Surg telemetry experience preferred

Charting via Epic EMR
-
Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements
-
Block scheduling is not available
-
Active MO RN license required; pending IL license may be accepted (note must be included)

Current certifications: BLS and ACLS

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Must pass a Relias EKG exam — interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is required

Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Navy blue scrubs required

RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation

Travelers may work up to 18 months before a required 3-month break in service; former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

Night shift workers park at no charge in employee parking; day/night rotation workers must obtain a monthly parking pass (~$70/month)
