Duties
- Safely ascend trees using climbing gear and rigging techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal operations
- Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access high branches efficiently and securely
- Implement arborist rigging techniques for complex tree removals or branch management
- Conduct tree care activities including pruning, shaping, and health assessments based on horticultural best practices
- Use chainsaws and hand tools to cut limbs or remove trees with precision and safety adherence
- Apply GIS (Geographic Information System) tools to map and document tree locations and health status
- Follow strict safety protocols during all outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and ensure team safety
Requirements
- Proven experience in outdoor tree work, landscaping, or horticulture with growing knowledge of dendrology (the study of trees)
- Ability to climb trees confidently using ropes, harnesses, and rigging equipment while following safety standards
- Familiarity with bucket truck operation for aerial access during tree care tasks
- Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques for safe tree removal or branch management
- Skilled in using chainsaws, pruning shears, and other landscape maintenance tools effectively
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to outdoor work environments and equipment operation
- Experience with GIS mapping or landscape maintenance is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
