Assistant Volleyball Coach @ Stevens Middle School
DESCRIPTION:
Assistant Girls’ Volleyball Coach position at Stevens Middle School. The assignment will be with the
Junior Varsity team. The JV Coach is responsi ble for planning and organizing practice, assisting with
development of the season’s schedule, as well as coaching and team management for games. The assistant
coach will implement program policies and philosophies and will assist the Varsity Head Coach as
required. Assistant coach will be encouraged to assist with out-of-season organization and development
work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience coaching high school volleyball desired. Recent college playing experience may be
substituted for coaching experience.
- Must prioritize sportsmanship, work ethic, organization, and communication with players, staff,
and the community.
- Must relate well to student-athletes; must be able to teach fundamental volleyball skills.
- Must display positive qualities such as enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and loyalty.
- Must represent the program with appropriate behavior and integrity at all times while developing
and maintaining productive relationships with other employees, parents, students, and opponents.
- Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to students, parents, staff,
and program.
- Must effectively support the head coach in all aspects of the program.
- Responding to stressful situations appropriately.
- Maintaining regular attendance and punctuality.
- All positions are on site and in person.
ASSISTANT COACHES SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRACT:
Assistant coaches whose positions are dependent on student participation will be offered provisional
coaching positions. Provisional coaches will be hired for a one-week period of time through the 8th
calendar day of the season; their contracts will be extended for the duration of the season if the number of
student participants justifies the additional coaching staff. In the event that student participation does not
warrant the number of assistant coaches, provisional coaches shall be released from District employment
after the eighth day of the season.
Wages – Assistant Coach $3,410.17
Benefits - Medical, Retirement, Basic Life/AD&D, Basic Long-Term Disability, FSA & HSA. Any employee anticipated to
work at least 630 hours in the school year is eligible for benefits.
