Duties
- Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools.
- Assist with menu planning by contributing ideas that meet nutritional standards and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by following strict sanitation protocols, including cleaning surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly.
- Handle food safely by adhering to food handling procedures, safety standards in production, and food safety management practices.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
- Support catering events or special meal requests by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining recipe adherence and presentation standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred.
- Proven food service experience in restaurants or food industry settings demonstrating strong culinary skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and kitchen safety protocols.
- Skilled in meal preparation techniques including slicing, chopping, cooking, and plating.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with kitchen staff and team members effectively.
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and catering is a plus.
- Strong knife skills and slicing techniques are desirable for efficient food prep.
