Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Metal Shop Worker / CNC Operator, where you'll play a vital role in producing high-quality metal components and parts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery, including CNC laser cutting machines, lathes, press brakes, stamping presses, and fabrication tools. You'll be instrumental in ensuring precision manufacturing processes are executed efficiently and safely, contributing to the success of our manufacturing facility. Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines such as CNC laser cutting machine, press brake and CNC band saw machine.
- Set up and adjust equipment including press brake machines, stamping presses, and fabrication tools for optimal performance
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining and assembly
- Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to verify part dimensions and tolerances
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment while maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery such as Fanuc-controlled CNC systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to ensure smooth operation
- Assist in fabrication processes including welding, tooling setup, and assembly line tasks to support production goals
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC equipment such as CNC plasma/laser cutting machines, press brake and CNC Band Saw machine.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges for quality assurance
- Experience with fabrication processes such as welding, tooling setup, or press brake operation is advantageous
- Knowledge of factory safety procedures and materials handling techniques using forklifts or similar equipment
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments; proficiency with CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD is a plus
