Duties
- Assist the Resident Care Director in managing nursing staff and supervising shift operations to ensure seamless delivery of care.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including Medicare, HIPAA, and state-specific guidelines related to assisted living, nursing home standards, and hospice care.
- Review medical records, documentation, and assessments such as the Minimum Data Set (MDS) to support accurate billing and quality reporting.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth transitions between acute care, home health, and home care services.
- Supervise the use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation and efficient workflow management.
- Support nurse management in shift management, staff scheduling, and ensuring proper staffing levels to meet resident needs.
- Promote a culture of safety by monitoring infection control practices, medication administration accuracy, and adherence to healthcare protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or hospice environments with strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in nursing administration or nurse management roles.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation review processes, and care planning strategies.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and medical records management tools.
- In-depth understanding of Medicare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare documentation standards.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, residents’ families, and healthcare providers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities through shift management while maintaining attention to detail in medical records and care documentation.
