We are looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Dishwasher/Food Prep specialist to keep our busy kitchen running smoothly. In this dual role, you will be the backbone of our operation—ensuring a spotless environment while helping our culinary team prep fresh ingredients for our traditional Thai noodle bowls.
This position is perfect for someone looking to build foundational kitchen skills in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Dishwashing & Sanitation: Clean, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment according to safety standards.
- Food Preparation: Assist the chefs with basic food prep tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning fresh vegetables, aromatic herbs, and proteins.
- Recipe Adherence: Precision matters—follow standardized portioning guidelines and prep instructions to maintain flavor consistency across all dishes.
- Kitchen Support: Help organize delivery inventory, rotate stock using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures, and maintain clean trash/recycling areas.
- Safety & Compliance: Operate commercial dishwashers and kitchen tools safely, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety hygiene throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen, catering environment, or dietary department is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Basic culinary fundamentals, including safe knife-handling skills and slicing techniques.
- Ability to understand and closely follow recipes, instructions, and food safety regulations.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills to coordinate with the line cooks during a rush.
- Valid Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe certification.
- Ability to stand for long periods, work in a hot/wet environment, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Pay: $20.80 - $21.00 per hour
