OPTICAL MANAGER / OPTICIAN
Central Ohio Eyecare – Powell, Ohio
Central Ohio Eyecare is seeking an experienced, friendly, and motivated Optical Manager / Optician to join our Powell office. The ideal candidate will have experience in optical dispensing, contact lens management, and patient care and enjoys building long-term relationships with patients in a smaller, community-focused practice.
This is a unique opportunity to become an important part of a well-established, patient-focused optometric practice that has served the Powell community for many years. Our Powell location is a smaller satellite office that allows staff to build meaningful relationships with patients while working closely with the doctors in a supportive and professional environment.
The ideal candidate enjoys helping patients, takes pride in organization and efficiency, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small-office setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with frame selection, lens options, eyewear adjustments, and optical dispensing
- Order and manage contact lens inventory and patient contact lens orders
- Check patients in and out and provide exceptional customer service
- Verify insurance benefits and assist patients with understanding their coverage
- Support patient flow and basic technician duties, including preparing patients for examinations
- Maintain optical inventory and coordinate vendor orders
- Handle day-to-day administrative tasks including deposits, office organization, and supply ordering
- Work closely with the doctors to ensure an outstanding patient experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an optometry or ophthalmology office
- Optical experience including frame styling, dispensing, and adjustments
- Contact lens ordering and management experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Experience with Eyefinity software is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Compensation:
$22–27 per hour, based on experience, optical knowledge, and overall qualifications.
We recognize that candidates bring different levels of experience and training. Compensation will be determined based on prior optical experience, contact lens knowledge, patient care skills, and the ability to work independently in a multi-functional role.

Monday–Thursday schedule with no overnight evenings, or weekends.
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
