Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during surgical procedures, general dentistry treatments, and complex oral surgeries with precision and professionalism.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines.
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions or concerns with empathy.
- Maintain strict infection prevention protocols through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and assisting the dental receptionist when needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, with knowledge of general dentistry and oral surgery procedures.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental equipment operation.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate medical documentation and record keeping.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention practices.
- Ability to perform dental X-ray procedures safely while maintaining radiation safety standards.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred;
