Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to help our growing company to expand into new markets and increase volume and profitability. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for various electrical bids as determined by Senior Management. This position requires a self-starter who can communicate and negotiate effectively with Clients/Owners/Vendors/Subcontractors. The Estimator will collaborate closely with Senior Management, and the electrical project foreman, to ensure that all relevant details of the estimate/project are brought to their attention and transferred to them during the preconstruction process. ElectraTex is located in Mansfield, and services the North Texas area.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and detailed material and labor electrical estimates.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate prices and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Utilize the software tools Accubid & Live Count for takeoffs and estimating processes.
- Be able to write effective RFI’s to appropriate parties during the bidding phase.
- Conduct site visits (when appropriate or required) to gather information on project requirements and assess existing conditions.
- Collaborate with project management teams to establish project timelines and budgets.
- Periodically enroll in continuing education courses/seminars to stay on top of industry trends, building codes, and the National Electrical Code.
Experience and Requirements
- 2-5+ years proven experience as an Estimator in commercial, institutional, and industrial electrical projects.
- Candidates must possess either an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology, or a graduate certificate from a Texas state-approved Electrical Apprenticeship program.
- Familiarity with bidding public works projects
- Proven proficiency in both Accubid & Live Count estimating software.
- Strong attention to detail in reviewing project specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple estimating projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Pay
$75,000 - $100,000 a year (Pay is determined by experience)

Shift and schedule
- Normal Work Hours will be 8 AM to 4:30 PM
- Periodic Overtime will be required as necessary to meet bidding deadlines
- Monday to Friday
- Estimator must be in the ElectraTex office in Mansfield on a daily basis
