Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and documenting symptoms accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process
- Perform clinical tasks including phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) procedures in accordance with safety protocols
- Support physicians with medical documentation, ICD coding, and maintaining precise medical records for billing and legal purposes
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient flow, and follow-up communications to enhance patient service experience
- Conduct room preparation, sterilization, and inventory management of medical supplies and equipment
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine to deliver comprehensive patient care
Experience
- Prior medical office experience or clinical internship in a healthcare setting is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding practices
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management tools
- Inpatient or hospital experience including Level I Trauma Center exposure or OR (Operating Room) experience is advantageous
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required or highly desirable
- Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures, urgent care protocols, or emergency medicine enhances your ability to adapt quickly in diverse environments
- Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and internal medicine patients
