Restaurant Host / Hostess
As a Restaurant Host/Hostess, you will be the first and last impression our guests have of Red Bowl Asian Bistro. You play an essential role in creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests, managing seating, coordinating wait times, and ensuring every guest feels valued from the moment they walk through our doors.
The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, dependable, and enjoys interacting with people in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Weekend availability is required.
Responsibilities
- Greet every guest with a warm smile and genuine hospitality.
- Welcome, seat, and thank guests according to restaurant service standards.
- Manage the waitlist efficiently and communicate accurate wait times.
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally and assist guests with questions.
- Receive, organize, and process takeout and online orders accurately.
- Verify takeout orders before guests arrive and process payments correctly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming entrance, lobby, and host station.
- Ensure dining tables are clean, sanitized, and properly set for incoming guests.
- Assist the service team by clearing and resetting tables when needed.
- Roll silverware and complete side work throughout the shift.
- Clean windows, entrance doors, host stand, and waiting area as assigned.
- Check, clean, and restock the host station and guest restrooms regularly.
- Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Deliver outstanding hospitality and create a positive dining experience for every guest.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a restaurant host/hostess or in a customer service role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Experience using restaurant POS systems (Aloha, Micros, or similar) is a plus.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy service periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling takeout orders and payments.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining excellent attendance.
- Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
