Responsibilities:
- Comply with all safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Supervise daily cleaning of plant processing equipment and facilities, ensuring equipment sanitation standards are being met. This includes disassembling and reassembling equipment, power washing, sanitizing, lifting, carrying and pushing containers as well as complete housekeeping of the breakroom, restrooms along and keeping the trash emptied.
- Coordinates all daily sanitation activities. Delegate tasks as needed to ensure all sanitation requirements are met in a timely manner.
- Works hands-on when needed, demonstrating expectations and training employees.
- Adhere to chemical handling procedures using SDS sheets as a guide to handling.
- Work with Quality Control team on pre-op inspections.
- Ensure that discipline is administered equally and fairly to employees and does not allow “favoritism” to guide decision-making.
- Ensure that all employees are treated fairly, with respect and courtesy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Will be required to stand for long periods of time and to occasionally sit, bend or stoop to perform certain tasks.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Will frequently be required to make coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects.
- Must be able to wear personal PPE as required. Includes gloves, masks, etc.
Food Safety Responsibility:
Follow and have high standards of personal hygiene practices.
Regularly wash hands.
Able to collaborate with a wide variety of people. Excellent communication skills are a must.
- Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization.
- Organization and time management skills are a necessity.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as SOP’s, GMP’s, etc.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once and work well under pressure.
- Perform basic visual quality inspections.
- Secondary education in Leadership/Management is desired.
This position is responsible for the daily supervision of all sanitation activities, including housekeeping cleaning and sanitizing equipment. The Sanitation Supervisor must ensure that company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory guidelines for sanitation are followed.
