Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the retail team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
- Oversee daily store operations including cash handling, POS transactions, and cashiering procedures.
- Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, purchasing, and merchandising strategies.
- Supervise employee orientation, training & development initiatives to enhance team skills and performance.
- Conduct interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding processes for new staff members.
- Implement pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and marketing efforts to increase store visibility and sales.
- Maintain operational compliance by managing payroll, bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative tasks.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, phone etiquette, organizational policies, and customer service excellence.
- Oversee shift management including scheduling, supervising staff during peak hours, and ensuring smooth store flow.
- Utilize management tools such as POS systems and inventory management software to optimize store performance.
Skills
- Proven management experience within the retail industry with a strong background in sales team supervision.
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with effective communication abilities in multiple languages or bilingual proficiency preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development.
- Strong knowledge of retail math including pricing strategies, sales management, budgeting, and inventory control.
- Skilled in operational management areas such as payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and stock purchasing.
- Experience with POS systems, wireless sales environments, merchandising techniques, and inventory management tools.
- Leadership qualities with a focus on team management, supervising experience, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills with time management capabilities to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
- Familiarity with grocery store operations or similar retail settings is advantageous.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly valued for effective customer engagement across diverse communities.
