The Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions is responsible for coordinating transfer recruitment, admissions processing, and partnership development to support Cheyney University’s enrollment goals. The position ensures accurate evaluation of transfer credentials, effective use of admissions technology, and cross-departmental collaboration to improve student access, retention, and time-to-degree.
The Assistant Director serves as the primary liaison between Cheyney University and the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) and supports the development of additional community college partnerships within the University’s primary recruitment markets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Transfer Admissions & Recruitment

Coordinate recruitment and admissions activities for prospective transfer students.

Review transfer applications, supporting documentation, and render admissions decisions in accordance with University policies.

Interpret and evaluate transfer coursework, including course equivalencies and academic requirements.

Manage communication with prospective transfer students across multiple platforms to support inquiry, application completion, and enrollment.
Partnerships & Outreach
-
Serve as the primary institutional representative to the Community College of Philadelphia.

Develop and maintain partnerships with additional community colleges and external organizations.

Coordinate and participate in Transfer Days, on-site admissions events, information sessions, and virtual recruitment activities.

Represent the University at recruitment events, college fairs, and community outreach initiatives.
Technology, Data, & Process Improvement

Utilize admissions and student information systems (Banner, SLATE, and related platforms) to manage recruitment and admissions workflows.

Support the implementation and optimization of technology to enhance efficiency and data integrity.

Analyze admissions processes, policies, and procedures to recommend best practices and operational improvements.

Monitor enrollment data, reports, and trends to support recruitment strategy, yield management, and forecasting.
Collaboration & Administrative Support

Work collaboratively with the Offices of Financial Aid, Registrar, and Academic Affairs to ensure a seamless transfer student experience.

Assist with preparation of reports, records, and official institutional documentation.

Support procedural design and ensure compliance with University, state, and federal regulations.

Assist with monitoring departmental budgets and transfer-related expenditures.
Customer Service & Professional Conduct

Provide high-quality customer service to students, families, faculty, staff, and external partners.

Maintain a professional, inclusive, and student-centered work environment.

Participate in evening and weekend recruitment activities as required.
Other Duties

Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
