Director, Facilities & Maintenance

A multi-property hospitality management company is seeking an experienced Director of Facilities & Maintenance to provide guidance and operational support to all hotels. To assist in overseeing the facilities, property maintenance initiatives, and Property Improvement Plans (PIPs - renovations) across a portfolio of hotels in many states.
The position is to provide expertise in maintenance and mechanical knowledge to the Executive Staff, General Managers, and on-site Maintenance Technicians.
This position is a corporate leadership position that partners with the Executive Staff, General Managers, and Maintenance Technicians on site to ensure our properties remain safe, well-maintained, brand compliant, and positioned for long-term success.
This position will report to the President and the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide maintenance and mechanical guidance and support to the Executive Staff, General Managers, and the Maintenance Teams at the Hotels.
- Lead and oversee Property Improvement Plan (PIP- renovation) projects from planning through completion. Assist in selection of the Construction Contractor and prepare the budget for all projects. Assist in the hiring and scheduling of some trades, as each project will vary.
- Travel to properties and conduct property inspections and identify maintenance and mechanical priorities. Analyze conditions and performance of major mechanical equipment, guest rooms, public spaces, and exterior building conditions.
- Assist in the development and mentoring of the Maintenance Technicians.
- Troubleshoot on complex maintenance issues and provide recommendations
- Help in Emergency situations, such as major equipment outages, severe weather-related incidents and water damages challenges due to storms, sprinkler head breaks, or pipe leaks.
- Ensure preventive maintenance initiatives and best practices are implemented to brand standards and ensure independent hotels have preventative maintenance initiatives and that they are reporting.
- Bids and Budget major equipment, renovations, and PIP’s (Product Improvement Plans).
- Ensure compliance with franchise brand standards, life safety requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality of work.
- Involved in the inspection and budgeting of new acquisition hotels/construction
- Perform duties as assigned by the President supporting the overall success of hotel operations.
- Travel approximately 50% of the job to hotels throughout the portfolio.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of leadership experience in hotel engineering, facilities management, construction management, or multi-site maintenance operations.
- Hospitality experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience managing renovation projects.
- Strong project management, budgeting, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
