Job Title: Children/Youth Ministry Director
Job Type: Permanent; Part-time
Compensation: Varies depending on the qualification and experience
Hours: 10 hr per week
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Evaluated by: Staff Parish Relations Committee and Pastor yearly
Position Overview
The Children/Youth Ministry Director is responsible for overseeing the programs for spiritual nurture and faith formation of children/youth with an oversight from the Senior Pastor.
Job Responsibilities
1. Lead a brief Children's Time during the 10 AM Sunday Morning Worship Service.
2. Provide Sunday school during the adult worship time on Sundays immediately following the Children's Time during Sunday Morning Worship Service.
3. Mobilize parents and volunteers to plan and prepare special programs for Easter and Christmas.
5. Plan and provide special programs and events during the holidays or when needed (i.e. Vacation Bible School, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas presentation)
6. Plan and provide special programs for spiritual nurture and care for children & youth as needed in consultation with the pastor.
7. Recruit volunteers from the church to help out with children/youth ministry and take initiative in communicating with parents for program participation and help.
Skills and Requirements
· A degree in Christian education or similar is preferred but not required
· The person must be a professing Christian and possess a good Biblical knowledge
· The person must have the experience of leading children’s program in a church Sunday school.
· The person must possess a deep passion and willingness to work with children and youth.
· The person must also have good social and communication skills, team spirit, and leadership to work with parents, volunteers and the pastor.
· The person must be flexible, open-minded and possess a creative spirit to try new ideas and new things.
· The person must be willing to work closely with the pastor and worship committee, receive instructions with willingness in the planning, coordinating and providing Christian education and nurture to children and youth.
· The person must possess a team spirit to be able to work effectively with the senior pastor, parents, and other church leaders.
· The person must be committed to support the vision of the church ministry
· The person must be sensitive to the spiritual and emotional needs of children/youth
