Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain industrial and commercial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage controls.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute projects.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), and local electrical codes for safety and quality standards.
- Perform routine inspections of electrical wiring, systems, and equipment to prevent failures and ensure ongoing safety.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely to complete installations and repairs on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Follow electrical safety procedures diligently to protect yourself and colleagues from hazards associated with high voltage or complex electrical systems.
- Read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately to guide installation or troubleshooting efforts involving industrial or commercial electrical systems.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems for automation projects or system upgrades.
- Collaborate with project teams during construction or renovation phases to ensure timely completion of electrical tasks aligned with project specifications.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial environments, with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams confidently.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and adherence to local electrical codes is essential.
- Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Experience working with high-voltage wiring systems safely in accordance with electrical safety procedures.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage control systems for automation tasks.
- Construction site experience is preferred, including renovation projects or new installations in commercial or industrial settings.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, power drills, wire strippers, conduit benders, etc., efficiently and safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail for diagnosing issues quickly.
- Valid electrician license or certification as required by local regulations; ongoing commitment to safety training is a plus.
