Job Summary
Public Safety Unlimited in Barrington, NJ is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Store Associate to join the team in our busy uniform store. We specialize in providing uniforms and gear for public safety professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service background and will be willing to learn the procedures that have kept our customers coming back for over twenty years. We provide our customers with uniforms and body armor by assisting our sewing department in measuring for sizing and alterations.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt and attentive customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with product selection.
- Accept sales transactions accurately and efficiently over the telephone, through email, through our website, and from walk in customers.
- Handle customer inquiries and respond to them in an appropriate time frame.
- Execute customers’ orders promptly by pulling merchandise, updating order statuses, and sending them to appropriate departments within the store for processing.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked sales floor and stock area by processing incoming shipments, restocking shelves, monitoring inventory levels, and passing that information onto the purchasing department.
- Continually expand knowledge of existing and new product lines.
- Follow daily workflow plans and revised procedures from manager.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets by completing orders of significance in a timely fashion to enhance our customer’s experience.
- Preserve an appealing showroom by merchandising and organizing products along with assisting in the weekly housekeeping schedule.
Qualifications
- Applicants should have prior retail experience and basic computer knowledge, knowledge of QuickBooks desktop is preferred, but will train the right candidate.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to adapt to challenges while remaining calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and professional written & verbal communication are essential for handling transactions and stock management. Must be fluent in English.
- A willingness to prioritize tasks and responsibilities is essential for success in this role.
- This job will require sitting, standing, walking, carrying, lifting up to 30lbs, reaching, bending, and climbing steps on a frequent basis.
- This position is Monday through Friday 9 am - 5 pm with no weekends
