What you will do:
The Painter will paint metal weldments and and assemblies with various types of liquid coatings (epoxies, zincs, urethanes, etc) or with powder coating; following written and or verbal instructions as well as exercising judgment and experience to plan and accomplish work schedule goals; ability to check his/her own work; meet production deadlines, be flexible, time conscious, work with a sense of urgency, and be able to move from project to project with minimal supervision; work closely with shop management; other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 years of Industrial Painting experience preferred
- Ability to operate industrial painting equipment
- Ability to obtain medical certification to wear a respirator per OSHA standards
- Able to read, understand, and perform the instructions on work orders or purchase orders.
- Responsible for checking parts for any damage or any abnormality prior to processing.
- Disassemble units and being able to keep like unit and ID numbers associated with the correct parts.
- Able to follow direction.
- Ability to use appropriate measuring instruments to the task
- Ability to interface with other people to accomplish tasks
- Ability to maintain a clean work area
- Ability to follow and apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day
- Must be in good health and agile.
- Must be willing to take drug test and have a physical exam prior to hiring.
- Must be able to work overtime as required or assigned. (Rarely)
- Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane
Ability to:
- Make precise arm-hand positioning movements and maintain static arm-hand position.
- Make fine, highly controlled muscular movements to adjust the position of a control mechanism.
- Able to wear an air fed helmet and cape.
- Make skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects.
- Sustain arms above shoulder level.
- Work in small cramped areas.
- Work at heights up to 10 feet.
- Clean equipment using appropriate materials and maintaining them in good working order.
- Move heavy objects (50 lbs or less) long distances (more than 20 feet). Two or more people required to move anything over 50 lbs.
- Remain in a standing, kneeling, stooping, and forward bent positions for extended periods of time.
- Learn job related material primarily through oral instruction and observation. This learning is mainly in on-the-job training setting.
- Twist torso 45 to 90 degrees to perform essential functions.
- Ability to perform job requirements in time allotted for a specific jobs.
