Marineau Eye Care is seeking a friendly, motivated, and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our growing team. We are a medical-focused optometry practice providing comprehensive eye care, ocular disease management, urgent eye care, and optical services to our patients.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in healthcare who enjoys working with people and wants to build valuable skills in the field of optometry. No prior optometric experience is required — we are willing to train the right candidate!
Position Details
- Schedule: 4 days per week
- Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week
- Location: Douglas, Michigan
- Experience: No experience required; training provided
- Employment: Full-time (according to our 30 hour/4 day work week)
Responsibilities
As an Optometric Technician, you will work closely with our optometrist and team to provide an efficient and positive patient experience. Responsibilities may include:
- Greeting and preparing patients for their eye examinations
- Obtaining medical and ocular histories
- Performing pre-testing and diagnostic testing
- Performing visual acuity and other preliminary testing
- Operating equipment such as OCT and visual field testing
- Assisting with dilation and other aspects of comprehensive eye examinations
- Entering and updating patient information in our electronic health record
- Assisting the doctor with patient flow and clinical duties
- Cleaning and maintaining examination and testing areas
- Providing friendly, professional patient care
- Learning and performing additional clinical duties as training progresses
