Job Title: Structures Technician
Job Description
This role involves working with unique bonding and assembly processes in the production of airframes. Key tasks include setting up assembly fixtures, drilling, fay sealing, fastener installation, and trimming/fitting components. The position requires dynamic and hands-on involvement in various manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities

Assemble composite parts and assemblies of varying complexities and sizes.

Utilize shop tools and machinery safely and correctly, including drills, die grinders, and calipers.

Drill a variety of hole sizes in both composite and metal structures, including stack-ups of dissimilar materials.

Work hands-on with multiple fastener types, including Hi-Lite, Hi-Lok, and Composi-Lok.

Provide input of technical and operational knowledge in the assessment and repair/maintenance recommendations.

Work on moderately difficult manufacturing assignments, requiring judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.

Ensure the quality and efficiency of installations, including troubleshooting and guidance in troubleshooting processes.

Adhere to assembly instructions to ensure the accurate completion of complex project assemblies.

Practice safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness/prevention while adhering to regulatory protocols and rules.

Collaborate with team members to achieve goals and complete assigned tasks.
Essential Skills-
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of three years of experience with aircraft fabrication and assembly or equivalent industry experience.

Proficient in using specialized tools and equipment to assemble or repair aircraft.

Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and/or models on paper or digital.

Demonstrated ability to use computer applications to follow manufacturing work instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
Hands-on experience in a precision yet manual manufacturing setting is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with multiple types of fasteners and their applications.

Knowledge of proper drill speeds and feeds for the materials being worked on.

Understanding of hole angularity and the importance of hole tolerances.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies and tools is a plus.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment
You will be working in an aircraft hangar with temperature control, although humidity will be higher due to the nature of the aircraft parts. The work shifts include 1st Shift from 6:00am to 4:30pm, Thursday - Sunday and Monday - Thursday; and 2nd Shift from 4:00pm to 2:30am, Thursday - Sunday. Training will occur on the 1st Shift, Monday - Thursday.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
