Job Summary
The primary duties of the Water Distribution Specialist I are to complete job assignments through work orders and verbal instructions and expected to carry projects through to completion and resolving most problems with some independence. Have the ability to exercise independent judgment in completing work assignments.
Responsibilities
.Participate in the work involved in the construction, installation, repair and maintenance of water mains, fire hydrants, service lines, valves and appurtenances.
· Participate in studies of work progress records, equipment efficiency and distribution facilities and recommend improvements.
· Assist crew in construction, maintenance and clean-up tasks.
· Notifies customers when water service will be interrupted.
· Review work procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal safety and water quality regulations.
· Maintain time and production records.
· Check and complete work orders, estimates, requisitions, daily logs, inspect materials, vehicle and equipment reports.
· Locate water lines by reading blueprints, maps and using location equipment.
· After job assignments are completed, clean up the affected area.
· Subject to callout.
