Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Driver / Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting daily operations, picking up materials from vendors, delivering materials to job sites, ensuring the shop runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a combination of organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle various tasks, including driving responsibilities when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily operations of the shop, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving and stocking supplies.
- Operate various vehicles as needed, including delivery vans, box trucks.
- Support logistics by coordinating deliveries and pickups efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a productive work environment.
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating vehicles and handling equipment.
- Navigation between commercial vs. non-commercial routes
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Shop Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license with CLEAN DRIVING RECORD. Experience driving delivery vans, box trucks, or other commercial vehicles preferred. CDL - NOT REQUIRED.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for effective customer interaction.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to shop operations and vehicle handling.
