Duties
- Assist with food preparation including slicing, chopping, cooking, and assembling ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Follow strict food safety standards in handling, storage, and sanitation to ensure a hygienic environment
- Support meal preparation for various service periods while adhering to recipe guidelines and portion control
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas through regular cleaning routines
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy hours
- Assist with catering events or special meal service as needed, ensuring timely delivery of quality food
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Background in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with food handling and customer interaction
- Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and food industry best practices
- Skills in knife handling, slicing techniques, and food preparation methods
- Understanding of safety standards in production environments and proper operation of kitchen equipment
- Experience with food safety management systems and maintaining compliance with health regulations
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members
