Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Fulfills clinical medical assisting responsibilities that may include rooming patients, checking vital signs, inputting patient history and medications
- Reviewing charts for records
- Prior authorizations for medications
- Triage patient calls
- Be able to effectively communicate provider results to patients
- Apply for various assistance programs if patients have no means to pay for their medication
- 25% of their time spent will be on the phones and the other 75% will be rooming for our providers in the clinic.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks, manage time, prioritize work, and perform well under pressure of deadlines
- Skill in customer service principles by creating a pleasant atmosphere, handling calls, and effectively serving as clinic liaison
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to deal effectively and courteously with callers, patients, and families, clinic personnel and interact effectively with providers
- Ability to respond to stressful situations in a calm and effective manner
- Ability to type a minimum of 40wpm
- Attendance and punctuality
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting. Certification for Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.
Experience: Minimum six months experience is preferred but not required. Starting pay is based on experience.
This position is Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm. No weekends or on-call required.
